H. Moore and Son, located at 1578 London Line in Sarnia, is owned and operated by Bob and Nancy Bork. In 1952, Harry Moore started building and selling aluminum storm windows and doors out of his garage. A few years later, Moore expanded into aluminum siding and his son Charlie joined the growing business. In 1984, Jack Bork, an employee and installer, entered into partnership with Moore and bought the business outright in 1989. Bob joined his father as a full-time installer in 1990 and he took over the business in 2015.
Bob installed windows and doors for over 25 years. “I love the way new windows and doors can change an older house into a modern, updated home. I really enjoy working with our customers and getting to know them.” Bork now dedicates all his time to sales. H. Moore and Son has three installation crews working full-time. “We have three trucks and seven installers. Our guys have the skills and knowledge to do a great job every time. Some of them have over 20 years of experience. They are also very personable and our customers really appreciate that,” explains Bork.
Nancy Bork wears many hats as H. Moore and Son’s office administrator. “I look after booking, scheduling, inside sales and the office. Bob’s mother, Gail, was in the role before me so she taught me all there was to know.” H. Moore and Son exited the siding business in 2013 and now focuses exclusively on windows and doors. “The industry has changed a lot over the last 30 years. When I first started, there were five choices of door glass. Now there are five catalogues of glass. Add in the choices for hardware, and the possibilities are endless,” shares Nancy. “Our job is to help in the decision-making process. We get a lot of people coming back and telling us how happy they are with the results.”
H. Moore and Son uses two window and door suppliers. “Vinyl Window Designs and KV Custom Windows and Doors are both Canadian companies. I use them because their products are excellent and meet all the required Canadian standards.” H. Moore and Son provides warranty and service on everything they install. “If a customer has any issues, they can call me and we will get it fixed.” The Borks are in the process of renovating their building. They have redone the exterior and they are in the process of adding an additional 1,000 square feet of showroom, on an upper level. “People want to be able to see the window operate to know exactly what they are getting. The additional space will allow us to display more sample windows and doors.”

H. Moore and Son are involved with Habitat for Humanity, Celebration of Lights, Rotary and many other organizations throughout Sarnia-Lambton. “Volunteering in our community is important to us; the local community supports us, so we want to support them.”
